Anytime you spray anything on your plants - foliar feeds or pesticides - you should ALWAYS use a quality wetting agent, ESPECIALLY with Neem Oil products (including Azamaz/Azatrol). Wetting agents, also known as sticker-spreaders or surfactants, make water "wetter". Consider the fact that a plant leaf has a waxy coating, not unlike the surface of a freshly waxed car. What happens when you spray water on a freshly waxed car? The water forms into beads and rolls right off the car, of course! The same thing happens when you spray nutrients and pesticides on your plants. In some cases, the water droplets will actually cling to the leaf surface, but not spread out over it. This is bad for two reasons. First, you have a concentrated dot of food or pesticide on the leaf, which can cause damage as the droplet dries out. Second, instead of spreading out over the leaf surface and covering more area (thus killing more pests or increasing the nutrient absorption in foliar feeeds) the droplet just sits there, covering only a small portion of the leaf.
Using pesticides and foliar feeds without a wetting agent is almost like using them at half their normal strength because in many cases, the product you are applying will only work half as good as it would if you had added a wetting agent. And don't just take it from us - every commercial nursery and farm, edible, ornamental or otherwise, uses wetting agents every time they spray. And for good reason!
We've tried many wetting agents over the years, even standard dish soap (hey, everyone wants to save a buck, right?) and found Therm X-70 to be hands-down the best product. Not only is it the best wetting agent, it's also 100% organic (OMRI Listed), it's beneficial to the plant, and it's a great value comparted to other wetting agents on the market - it's a no-brainer!

Therm X-70 is a natural wetting agent derived from yucca. It contains 70% concentrated yucca extract, which helps plants overcome adverse water conditions and is a great spreader and sticker for other sprays. Use Therm X-70 to increase your crop's ability to germinate and establish in stressed conditions, as well as increase its water and fertilizer uptake.
Crop yields increase! Therm X-70 increases permeability in heavy clay soil, and reduces salt and alkali problems by improving drainage. It also stimulates root growth, extending the area irrigation reaches. When it is applied to a stressed area, there are immediate noticeable results. It will reduce irrigation costs because the crop can go longer between irrigation cycles.
Protects Crops Against:
- Heat and Water Stress
- Soil Compaction
- Poor Water Penetration
- Salinity and Alkali
The use of ThermX has been proven to result in:
- Increased water penetration
- Increased fertilizer uptake
- Increased permeability of heavy clay soil with salt and alkali problems
- Improved drainage, reducing salinity
- Increased water intake
- Increased root growth
Why use ThermX?
Growing conditions are never perfect. Crops are subject to many kinds of stress conditions that limit production and quality. ThermX helps plants overcome these stresses.
What is ThermX?
ThermX is a concentrated plant extract meal containing steroid saponin. This natural compound is found in certain desert plants like Yucca. Steroid saponin helps these plants overcome the adverse growing conditions of the desert. When placed in the root zone, ThermX helps crop plants, trees and turf in much the same manner. How does ThermX work?
Action in Soils:
Steroid saponin is a natural wetting agent that reduces surface tension. This action enhances better:
- Water penetration into the soil
- Subbing of beds
- Drainage of excess water from the root zone
Action on Plants and Trees:
Under stress conditions, steroid saponin increases the plant’s ability to utilize water more efficiently, resulting in:
- Improved seed germination and stand establishment
- Increased water uptake
- Improved fertilizer uptake
Irrigation Water and Nutrient Losses:
Water and nutrients are wasted if they aren’t used by the plants. The root systems are often denied the water and nutrients needed because of soil compaction, poor water penetration and subbing, and by the action of excess salinity and alkali. ThermX relieves these stresses, increasing crop yields.American Extracts supplies different agriculture products to suit everyone’s application needs. All are made from 100% natural yucca. The products are registered with California Department of Agriculture and with Organic Materials Review Institute.
