Mushroom Magic CVG Substrate Bag - 3 lb
Mushroom Magic CVG substrate follows an age old 50/50 recipe of coconut coir and vermiculite with a touch of gypsum. We hydrate the blend to proper field capacity and pasteurize for 90 minutes @ 160 degrees Fahrenheit. It's ready to use out of the bag, just add your colonized grain spawn of choice.
Benefits of CVG substrates compared to manure include a longer shelf life (6+ months), no foul smells, and an overall lower risk for contamination. CVG substrates are great for beginners and seasoned growers alike.
We use coconut coir that is washed and buffered from the manufacturer to ensure there are no excess salts and the pH isn't overly acidic. This is the same base of ingredients we use in our manure based substrate without the manure. Expect great results using our CVG blend!

We keep a control bag from every batch to ensure proper pasteurization was attained and the substrate falls within quality control standards.
5 pounds of substrate will fill one 32 quart monotub paired with 1.5 to 3 pounds or 2-3 quarts of grain spawn. For a 66 quart tub shoot for 10 pounds of substrate. However, our favorite way to grow is to divide one 3 pound grain bag between three 3 pound substrate bags (1 pound of colonized grain to 3 pounds of substrate).
NOTE: When shipping bags it's always a good idea to let your sterilized bags sit for 1-2 weeks before use. This will expose any issues that may have occurred during shipping and prevent wasted spore or culture syringes. If you do find that your product is compromised, please contact us.
