AutoPot GeoPot Expansion Module

The GeoPot Expansion Module is used to expand your AutoPot hydroponic growing system. Add as many Expansion Modules as you wish to increase the size of your garden. Comes with everything you need to add one additional GeoPot growing site to your existing AutoPot system.

We love this system! That's why we've continued to offer it since the year 2000. Here are just some of the reasons why:

The AutoPot GeoPot System combines our power-free, water efficient, low maintenance, modular systems with high performance fabric pots for the first time. The custom AutoPot GeoPot G Lite fabric pots stimulate plant growth by aerating, feeding and guiding the root structure rather than merely containing it.

The porous BPA-free, lead-free fabric pot material allows improved gas exchange in the substrate. Free to breathe the root zone can see dramatically enhanced oxygen levels – supercharging growth.

When root tips reach the porous side of a fabric pot they are ‘air-pruned’ – deterred from extending any further by the air outside. Secondary roots then develop, creating a fibrous root structure with vastly improved moisture and nutrient uptake. Root circling is also thus eliminated making it possible to produce bigger plants from smaller pots.

Extremely durable and reusable the GeoPots are easily cleaned between uses if desired. Once emptied the GeoPots are best left to dry. After a few days any dust and small roots are easily brushed off. Whilst this level of cleaning is completely sufficient the Spring Pot may be machine or tub washed in peroxide in order to sterilize. Do not put fabric pots in a tumble dryer.

A GeoPot XL System contains all you need to set up an automated watering system with fabric pots. The compact size and portability that GeoPot brings to XL means jaw-dropping reductions in shipping costs and much easier storage for stores and growers alike.

As with all of our systems the GeoPot System is easily extended so many pots can be linked to a single reservoir. The pots and trays can be easily moved at will, and if the plants grow too large, they can be spaced further apart with ease. Once set up with a water and nutrient filled reservoir this extremely versatile, gravity-fed system will run automatically. It will completely take care of all your plants needs without the need for pumps, timers or intensive maintenance.

When growing in AutoPot Watering Systems it is essential that a PotSock Round (PotSock included) be fitted to the base of each GeoPot to provide root control.

Building Your AutoPot System:

Step #1 - Choose your pot size

Choose from either 3 gal or 5 gal, depending on the size of the plant you will be growing. Choose the smaller pot for smaller plants such as lettuce and most herbs. Choose the larger pot for larger plants such as squash, tomatoes, etc.

Step #2 - Choose your growing medium

Although we highly recommend a 50/50 mix of coco/perlite (which you can purchase pre-mixed or individually) you can also use a mix of soil/clay pebbles (e.g. Hydroton), coco/clay pebbles or rockwool Grocubes. It is also advisable to add a thin layer of perlite at the bottom of each pot before adding your 50/50 mix of choice.

*One 50 liter bag of growing medium will fill approximately 14x 2.2 gal pots or 7x 3.9 gal pots.
*One 1 cubic foot bag of perlite will cover the bottom inch of approx. 12x 2.2 or 3.9 gal pots.

Step #3 - Optional - choose your accessories

Give your plants a lift with AirBase. This handy plate fits into the bottom of your pot and allows you to sidestep the use of a pebblelayer for drainage. A beautifully simple and effective innovation, AirBase is fabricated from tough ABS plastic making it highly durable and thus extensively reusable.

AirBase features a pop-out centre-section allowing for easy, optional AirDome integration. The AirDome sits beneath the AirBase and pumps oxygen into your root zone via bubble pipe. This aeration helps roots expand more quickly and stimulates the development of a highly absorptive root structure for improved nutrient uptake. The aeration also helps to maintain the condition of your substrate, for a healthy, productive, disease-free root zone.

The AirDome Kit is a great way to increase growth rate and size. Attach the AirDome to an air pump using 3/16" ID tubing and watch your plants' root system take off with explosive growth due to the added oxygen. 

Step #4 - Expand your growing system

Add additional plant sites to your system simply by adding additional 1Pot Extension Kits. Or mix & match with easy2grow or 1Pot XL Extension Kits.
